On the Record with Chris Kleine, Physician Compass Product Director

A healthcare reporting firm founded by the Wisconsin Collaborative for Healthcare Quality and the Wisconsin Hospital Association continues to grow.

Madison-based Physician Compass has helped more than 8,000 providers transition to a new Medicare payment system, called the Merit-Based Incentive Payment System or MIPS. The system aims to reward providers more on quality.

The organization has also expanded its market share in the Midwest, Mid-Atlantic and Southeast parts of the country and added more employees.

As Reporting Changes, Physician Compass Continues Expanding

Health care reporting company Physician Compass is expanding, taking on more customers and hiring additional employees while also developing healthcare technology solutions. The organization has been active in helping more than 8,000 providers make the transition from CMS’s Physician Quality Reporting System (PQRS) to the new Merit-based Incentive Payment System (MIPS).

In addition to the changes to its services and the expansion of its facility, Physician Compass is preparing to roll out a new application for reporting. This technology solution is aimed at further simplifying provider reporting. More news will be coming soon about this exciting development.

RURAL WISCONSIN HEALTH COOPERATIVE AWARDED FEDERAL GRANT FOR PRIMARY CARE QUALITY IMPROVEMENT

July 3, 2017, Sauk City, Wis.

Physician Compass is one of the four partner organizations involved in the Rural Wisconsin Primary Care Outcomes Improvement Project, a health initiative that recently was awarded a $300,000 grant from the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) Network Development Grant Program.

Physician Compass is joining forces with the Wisconsin Collaborative for Healthcare Quality (WCHQ) and the Wisconsin Hospital Association (WHA), as well as eleven Rural Wisconsin Health Cooperative (RWHC) member hospitals, to drive improvements in the care of patients with diabetes and hypertensive disease. The project partners will be working together to improve HbA1C and blood pressure control in the project’s patient population.

The HRSA grant will fund the first year of this three-year initiative.

 

Physician Compass Continues Growth

WCHQ and WHA Launch New Health Care Data Reporting Company

April 8, 2015, Madison, Wis.

A newly formed company founded by the Wisconsin Collaborative for Healthcare Quality and the Wisconsin Hospital Association, focuses on provider reporting to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services through the Physician Quality Reporting System. Physician Compass helps providers navigate their way through PQRS reporting. CMS has set a June 30, 2015 deadline for providers to declare their intentions to report quality metrics using the group reporting option of the PQRS.

“Physician Compass will make meeting the CMS requirements easy and convenient with a proven, reliable and cost-effective technology for data submission,” said Chris Queram, WCHQ president.

Physician Compass guides providers through submission of PQRS data, so they comply with federal law and are well-positioned to improve the quality of patient care and quality for value-based payments.
